Manfred Hackl, born 6 August 1968 in Linz, Austria.
Manfred Hackl studied mechanical engineering with a focus on industrial engineering at the Technical University of Vienna. He started his professional career 1995 as Quality and Product manager for PET recycling at EREMA and was therefore responsible for the development and launch of VACUREMA bottle-to-bottle recycling technology.
From 2006 to 2019 he was Managing Director of EREMA Engineering Recycling Maschinen und Anlagen GmbH and CEO of the subsidiaries EREMA North America, EREMA Shanghai and EREMA Russia. Since 2009 Manfred Hackl has been CEO of the EREMA Group GmbH with its subsidiaries EREMA (including the business unit POWERFIL), 3S, PURE LOOP, UMAC, Keycycle, PLASMAC, BLUEONE Solutions and plasticpreneur.
In addition to his work at EREMA Group GmbH, Manfred Hackl also promotes cooperation between different companies to drive forward the implementation of the circular economy for plastics. He is a member of the board of the VDMA (German Mechanical Engineering Industry Association) in the rubber and plastics sector and the K Exhibitors' Advisory Board at Messe Düsseldorf. Currently, he is the spokesman of the advisory board of the Plastics Cluster in Upper Austria and a member of the board of the Austrian Industrial Association.
In 2023 he was awarded the accolade Plastics Recycling Ambassador of the Year at the Plastics Recycling Show Europe. This category recognises individuals who are particularly committed to plastics recycling.
