Since 2012, Bart is co-founder of the sustainable design and engineering studio Better Future Factory, based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. He has set himself the goal to make the circular economy tangible. We can keep talking about what we should do, but instead let’s get to work and then see if it works or not. Bart and his team, specialize in finding new solutions for plastic waste streams through a combination of research, design and fast prototyping. The studio’s method of work has let to several innovative products that started new sustainable companies, Refil: 3D printer ink from recycled car dashboards and New Marble: Tiles made from old drinking bottles. Next to their own work, the team works with international clients on finding solutions for their waste problems.
Bart graduated at the Delft University of Technology with an innovative design for first aid patient transport which was patented. His work is awarded with young innovators awards, best new materials for 3D-printing award and upcoming talent awards. For the second year in a row Bart is included in the List of 100 Young Leaders in Sustainability in The Netherlands.
